Does banana cause acidity in empty stomach?

I often eat a banana first thing in the morning on an empty stomach for a quick breakfast. My aunt told me it can cause acidity if eaten like that. Is it true that bananas can cause acidity when eaten on an empty stomach?

When I consulted my gastroenterologist, he told me that while bananas are generally alkaline and help soothe the stomach, eating them on an empty stomach can trigger acidity or heaviness for some people due to the high magnesium and potassium. He advised me to track my body's reaction or eat it with oatmeal instead.

I actually started eating a banana every morning before my college lectures, and sometimes I feel a bit of heartburn. I thought bananas were supposed to cure acidity, so this is confusing. Is it better to eat them only after a full meal?

With PCOS, my insulin levels and digestion are always a bit sensitive, so I try to avoid only eating simple carbs like a banana first thing in the morning. I've noticed it can sometimes cause mild acid reflux. I usually pair it with a few almonds to balance things out.

Honestly, bananas are my ultimate pre-workout snack, but if I eat a slightly raw one on an empty stomach, my digestion goes for a toss. Make sure the banana is fully ripe, guys! Ripe ones are sweet and gentle, but if you still get acid, pair it with some toast.

Bananas are an awesome source of clean energy, but the high natural sugars can digest too fast on an empty stomach, causing acid reflux in some folks. Try eating it 30 minutes before your workout. If it causes issues, swap it with some overnight oats.

I used to suffer from chronic acid reflux and tried eating a banana every morning thinking it would act as a natural antacid. For me, it actually made the burning worse unless it was extremely ripe. I found that starting my day with lukewarm water first works much better.

Beta, in our village, we always say never eat only fruit on an empty stomach in the morning. It can cause gas or cold. It is always better to have some warm water and a small roti first, then eat your banana after some time.
