Does azo help with kidney stones?

My father is suffering from kidney stones, and the pain is quite severe. Someone recommended using Azo for temporary relief. Can Azo medication actually help in managing the symptoms of kidney stones?

AZO only helps with the burning pain in the urinary tract, it does not dissolve kidney stones. You need to focus on drinking lots of warm water and keeping your diet very clean. Avoid spinach, tomatoes, and excess salt which can make oxalate stones worse.

No yaar, AZO won't do anything to dissolve the stones. It actually just numbs your urinary tract so the burning stops for a bit. If the stone is big, you need to go to a doc and get an ultrasound done instead of relying on this.

Do not waste money buying multiple packages of AZO hoping it will cure the stones. A simple abdominal ultrasound costs around 800 to 1200 rupees and will tell you the exact size of the stone. Plan your budget for a proper doctor's visit and scan first, as that will save you money in the long run.

I was just reading about this online because my cousin has stones. It turns out AZO is only a urinary pain reliever, not a treatment for the actual stone. It might make you feel better temporarily, but you still need a doctor to help pass or treat the stone.

I have dealt with kidney stones twice in my life. Trust me, medicines like AZO are only good for temporary comfort when there is burning, but they do not dissolve the stones. Keep your faith, drink plenty of water, and let a proper doctor guide you through it.

At 53, my body seems to produce stones faster than I can pay my taxes! AZO will only turn your urine bright orange and give temporary relief, it won't break those stubborn stones. Better to consult a doc before your plumbing gets completely blocked.

Beta, these modern painkillers like AZO only numb the path, they do not cure the root cause of kidney stones. Drink fresh coconut water and warm barley water (jau ka paani) to help flush out small particles naturally. But if the pain is very sharp, do not wait, go to the hospital.

I have been up since 3 AM drinking gallons of water and honestly, AZO only masks the pain, it won't make the stone magically disappear. If only there was a pill to dissolve these rocks so I could sleep in peace. Go get an ultrasound, don't suffer like me.

It can be so painful to deal with this, I hope you find some relief soon. Please remember that AZO only helps with the pain and not the stone itself. Take care and please see a doctor soon for a proper checkup.

Please be very careful. I once tried to manage severe back pain with over-the-counter painkillers thinking it was a minor issue, but the stone had blocked my ureter and caused a severe kidney infection. Do not try to treat kidney stones at home with AZO; go see a urologist immediately.
