Does asthma qualify for disability?

My elderly aunt has very severe, uncontrolled asthma that severely limits her mobility and daily activities. I wanted to know if such a chronic condition like asthma qualifies for disability benefits or support.

For daily relief, I find taking warm honey-ginger water and doing light yoga helps keep the lungs steady. But if your breathing issues are so severe that you are looking into disability, please consult a medical board for a proper assessment.

In India, mild or moderate asthma usually doesn't qualify for disability benefits. However, if it is extremely severe and permanently restricts your ability to work despite treatment, you can apply for evaluation under specific government guidelines.

Haan, severe cases mein options hote hain, par regular asthma ke liye disability certificate milna mushkil hai na. Government doctors hi check karke iska proper decision de sakte hain.

Generally, it only qualifies if it is very severe and chronic! Keep taking good care of your lungs and don't lose heart.

From what I have seen in government rules, only severe respiratory impairment certified by a state medical board counts for disability benefits. For most people, regular asthma is managed well enough to lead a normal working life.

I used to panic thinking my asthma would leave me unable to work or function normally. Honestly, with the right daily preventive inhaler, it became so manageable that it hasn't disrupted my daily life at all.

Honestly, I wish my chronic fatigue and wheezing gave me some disability benefits so I could get extra leave! But unless your lung function is severely compromised, the government won't give a certificate easily.
