Does asthma make you ineligible for the draft?

I'm considering a career in the armed forces, but I have controlled asthma. I need to know if having asthma makes you ineligible for the draft or any specific military roles in India.

I deal with PCOS, so I know how hard medical criteria can be. From what I have read, active asthma usually makes you ineligible for the military draft due to safety issues, but definitely check the official guidelines.

Just like keeping my thyroid levels in check, military boards require strict health parameters. If you have chronic asthma, you should get a formal lung test and see what your doctor advises regarding military eligibility.

Hey, my brother wanted to join the defense forces but active asthma was a barrier for him. It is better to get your official medical history sorted out before applying.

Hey bro, don't stress too much about the draft rules. If you have asthma, it is mostly an automatic exemption to keep you safe, which is actually a good thing for your health.

Yes, active asthma is a standard medical disqualifier for military drafts. The training is high-intensity and they cannot risk respiratory failures in remote fields.

I totally get it, it must be quite stressful to worry about these medical screenings. Generally, the military has very strict rules and active asthma does make you ineligible.

Look at the bright side, your sensitive lungs just saved you from waking up at 4 AM for crazy boot camp drills! Yes, asthma usually gets you an exemption.
