Does asthma make you cough a lot?

For many years, my husband has been suffering from asthma, and he coughs quite a lot, especially at night. I was wondering if this excessive coughing is directly caused by his asthma condition.

Yes, cough-variant asthma can make you cough incessantly, especially during night hours. Keep warm water nearby and make sure you use your preventive inhalers regularly so it doesn't disturb your work routine.

I know how exhausting and embarrassing it feels to have constant coughing fits in public. Your throat must be so sore, so please take warm fluids and give yourself some rest.

In my experience, that persistent dry cough is often the first sign of an asthma flare-up. Don't worry, with regular breathing exercises and proper medication, the coughing settles down beautifully.

Every time I start coughing, I worry it is going to turn into a major attack and I won't be able to breathe. If you are also feeling stressed by the cough, definitely check in with your doctor to ease your mind.

My cough gets so much worse the moment I lie down to sleep at night. Does anyone else with asthma suffer from this constant nighttime coughing?
