Does asthma increase blood pressure?

My mother has both asthma and high blood pressure, and we're trying to manage both. I was curious if there's any link between asthma and an increase in blood pressure, or if they are completely separate issues.

Managing health requires looking at the whole picture. While asthma itself might not directly cause high BP, the stress of an attack or certain asthma medications can sometimes raise your heart rate and pressure, so keep tracking both.

I always panic that my asthma attacks are going to ruin my heart health and shoot my BP up. If you are feeling anxious about this, definitely talk to your doctor for peace of mind so you don't overthink like me.

Keeping a clean, low-sodium vegetarian diet is great for your blood pressure anyway. If you have asthma, managing your weight through healthy eating can also reduce the overall strain on your lungs and heart.

With chronic conditions like thyroid or asthma, our body systems are all connected. Make sure you get regular blood pressure checks and follow up with your doctor to see if your inhalers are affecting your vitals.

Actually, my doctor explained that the low oxygen levels during a severe asthma attack can put extra stress on the heart, which temporarily increases blood pressure. That is why keeping your breathing stable is so crucial.
