Does asthma get worse in winter?

Every winter, my asthma symptoms become significantly worse, making it very difficult to breathe comfortably. Is it a known fact that asthma gets worse in cold weather or during the winter season?

The dry, cold winter air can sometimes irritate our breathing passages. Just stay positive, wrap yourself in warm clothes, and drink warm water to keep your chest comfortable.

My mother always tells me to avoid curd and cold water during November and December. But my doctor also explained that cold dry air directly triggers airway constriction, so I make sure to use my controller inhaler regularly in winter.

Absolutely, the dense cold air combined with city smog is a terrible mix for asthmatics. Just wear a good mask when you are outdoors and don't skip your daily preventive dose.

I have been wheezing so much more since the temperature dropped this week. Does anyone else feel like their inhaler isn't working as well during winter mornings?

Don't depend on hot soups or random herbs to cure winter asthma attacks. Cold air is a proven physiological trigger, so you must verify your winter action plan with your doctor.
