Does asthma cause mucus?

Every time my asthma acts up, I seem to produce a lot more mucus and it gets really bothersome. I just wanted to know if this is a normal part of having asthma, or if it indicates something else.

Yeah absolutely, my chest gets super heavy with sticky mucus every time the weather changes. It's like a factory in there. Warm water and steam are my daily survival tools.

It is honestly so frustrating to constantly feel that thick mucus stuck in your throat, making it hard to talk or breathe properly. I used to cry out of sheer irritation. It is very common with asthma, so please don't feel alone in this.

Yes, asthma actually produces thick mucus which blocks your breathing passages. Don't let it build up. Drink lots of warm water throughout the day and make sure you use your preventer inhaler regularly.

My lungs produce more mucus these days than my country produces steel, honestly! It is a classic asthma symptom. Just keep spitting it out and keep your inhaler close by.

Yes, it does. Before you go for expensive allergy or lung capacity tests which cost thousands, try using warm saline steam daily. It is a very cheap and effective way to loosen the mucus.

Haan beta, asthma mein balgam (mucus) toh banta hi hai. Garm paani piyo aur thand se bacho, sab theek ho jayega. Humare yahan toh log garm haldi doodh bhi lete hain thoda aaram ke liye.

Mucus is just our body's way of trying to clear out irritants from our system. Stay positive, practice gentle daily breathing, and let nature heal you slowly. Take care of yourself.

Yes, asthma causes your airways to produce thick mucus. Staying hydrated by drinking warm fluids is the easiest way to thin it out.

I just recovered from a bad asthma flare-up last week and my main issue was constant coughing with clear mucus. My doctor put me on a daily controller spray which reduced the mucus secretion significantly within 3 days.

Dealing with asthma mucus for 15 years now. The best way to manage it is to avoid cold water, dairy products late at night, and use your steroid inhaler regularly to prevent the inflammation that creates the mucus in the first place.

Yes, asthma causes extra mucus which can make working out difficult. If your doctor allows, light cardiovascular activities like brisk walking can actually help loosen the mucus and clear your lungs.

I ignored my heavy mucus and chest rattle thinking it was normal asthma, but it turned into a severe chest infection that required oxygen support. Please consult your doctor if the mucus makes it hard to breathe even while sitting.

Asthma indeed causes mucus hypersecretion due to airway inflammation. However, if your mucus changes colour to thick green or yellow, or is accompanied by fever, please get it checked by a doctor immediately to rule out infection.

Yes, it is very common. My grandmother always gave me warm ginger decoction for the phlegm, which gives great relief. But of course, you must trust your doctor's inhaler prescription above all else.

Yes, excess mucus is very common. You don't need fancy machines; just buy a simple steam inhaler from your local pharmacy and do steam twice a day. It works wonders to clear the chest.
