Does arthritis in the neck cause headaches?

I have arthritis in my neck and lately, I've been getting frequent, severe headaches that start from the base of my skull. Could these two conditions be related, meaning can neck arthritis cause headaches?

Yeah, studying for long hours with neck stiffness gives me these massive headaches at the back of my head. My doctor told me neck joint issues definitely trigger headaches. Dont ignore it, get your posture checked.

Cervical issues can definitely cause headaches. Before you spend a lot on expensive brain scans, get a simple neck X-ray done as advised by a doctor. It is much more pocket-friendly and usually pinpoints the real issue.

Honestly, when my neck arthritis triggers those nasty headaches, I can't even enjoy my favorite street food. I try to avoid extra ginger tea or caffeine self-treatment and just stick to what the doctor prescribed.

Beta, cervical arthritis often causes a heavy ache that spreads to the head. A gentle warm compress on the neck can offer some comfort, but you must consult your doctor to get proper neck exercises.

My mother used to make herbal neck packs for headaches, but I found that consulting an orthopedist was the best decision. The neck alignment needs proper medical care to truly stop the head pain.

Yes, neck stiffness radiates pain upwards, causing cervicogenic headaches. Doing gentle chin tucks and neck stretches—only if your doctor or therapist recommends—can help relieve the pressure on those upper joints.

I have dealt with cervical arthritis for over fifteen years, and these headaches are very familiar. Don't worry, once you use a proper orthopedic pillow and follow your doctor's advice, the frequency of these headaches reduces drastically.
