Does arthritis cause numbness in fingertips?

Sometimes my fingertips feel numb and tingly, almost like pins and needles. My friend said it might be related to my arthritis, but I'm not sure. Does arthritis cause numbness in fingertips?

Numbness can sometimes happen if there is severe swelling around the wrist joints. Please take care of yourself, and consult your doctor to find some relief.

Numbness in the fingers can sometimes mean a nerve is getting pinched, maybe due to carpal tunnel or joint swelling. You should definitely get this checked by a neurologist or your bone doctor immediately to be safe.

My hands felt so numb and tingly last night I couldn't even hold my phone to scroll. Between my screaming joints and this tingling, sleep has left the chat. Hope we both find some peaceful sleep soon!

My bhabhi had this issue and her doctor said the swelling was pressing on her nerves. She started wearing a simple wrist splint at night and it really helped reduce that early morning finger numbness. Try to avoid keeping your hands bent for long.

I got this numbness once and started worrying if it was some major nerve damage. It is so stressful to deal with this daily. Please get it evaluated by a specialist so you can get some peace of mind.

I completely understand how terrifying that tingling feeling can be, it used to give me panic attacks. But don't worry, once the joint inflammation goes down with proper meds, the numbness usually subsides too.

Yes, joint swelling can pinch the nerves leading to your fingers, causing a numb sensation. Please see your doctor soon.
