Does appendicitis pain go away?

My younger brother has been complaining of severe stomach pain on his right side, and the doctor mentioned it could be appendicitis. If it is, will the pain eventually go away on its own, or does it always need treatment?

In my experience, if the pain suddenly goes away completely, it is actually a major warning sign. Sometimes a ruptured appendix can feel like the pain has stopped, but that is when the danger of infection spreading is highest. Please get to a clinic right away.

No, appendicitis pain does not just go away on its own. Sometimes it might feel slightly less intense for a few hours, but the infection is still there. Be very careful and don't try to treat it with sugar-free drinks or home remedies, consult a doctor immediately.

I am new here and learning about this. If the pain goes away for a whole day and then comes back, is that still appendicitis? Or does appendicitis pain always remain constant once it starts?

I wish our health issues disappeared that easily! No, appendix pain is stubborn and won't go away on its own. If it stops suddenly, it is probably preparing to give you a much bigger shock, so go see a doc.

Hoping the pain goes away will only cost you more in emergency surgeries later. A standard ultrasound is around 800 rupees, which is much cheaper than handling a burst appendix. Plan smart and get tested before it becomes a major expense.

Listen yaar, if your appendix pain suddenly vanishes, don't celebrate. It usually means the appendix has burst, which is a massive medical emergency. Stop waiting and get to the nearest hospital right now.

It does not go away without proper treatment. Just like managing thyroid, you cannot ignore internal health signs hoping they will fix themselves. You need an ultrasound and a doctor's follow-up immediately to see what is happening inside.

I can only share what happened to my husband. His pain seemed to get better after a few hours, so we thought he was fine, but the next morning it returned ten times worse. The doctors told us it was a close call, so we learned never to assume the pain is gone for good.
