Does amoxicillin help with fever?

My son has an infection and a high fever, and the doctor gave him Amoxicillin. I was wondering if Amoxicillin actually helps in bringing down a fever. We want him to be comfortable, you see.

Fever is just our body's way of fighting off something. Take deep breaths, rest well, and do not rush to take strong medicines like amoxicillin unless a doctor confirms a bacterial issue.

In our family, we usually do cold compresses for a fever, but we never take antibiotics without consulting our physician. Amoxicillin only works if the fever is due to a bacterial infection, not for normal viral colds.

Actually yaar, amoxicillin is an antibiotic, not a paracetamol. It won't reduce your fever directly unless there is a throat or lung infection. Better to take Crocin and ask a doctor first.

I know how tiring and draining it is when you have a high fever and just want fast relief. But please don't take amoxicillin on your own; antibiotics won't bring down a viral fever and might make you feel weaker.

Fever often runs its course in a few days. Instead of self-medicating with antibiotics, try drinking warm ginger tea and resting. If the fever stays high, consult a doctor for the right course.
