Does aloe plant help eczema?

My young son has developed patches of eczema on his arms, and I want to try gentle, natural remedies. We have an aloe plant at home. Does aloe plant gel help soothe eczema on children?

Fresh gel straight from your home aloe plant is incredibly cooling and helpful for dry patches. But if your eczema is raw, bleeding, or getting infected, please don't rely only on home remedies. Go visit a dermatologist for medical ointments.

Applying fresh gel from the aloe plant can definitely help soothe the external skin irritation. However, with eczema, you must also look at your internal diet and gut health. Avoiding spicy or highly processed foods might help reduce these skin flare-ups.

Please be very careful with raw aloe plants on cracked skin. I once put fresh gel on my flared eczema and got a nasty bacterial infection because the plant wasn't cleaned properly. I highly recommend seeing a proper dermatologist instead of taking risks.

I spent half the night scratching my legs like crazy instead of sleeping, then finally rubbed some aloe plant gel on them. It stopped the itching long enough for me to get a few hours of sleep, so it is definitely a lifesaver in emergencies!

Actually, raw aloe from the plant is quite decent for temporary itching, yaar. But don't expect it to cure the eczema completely. It just calms the skin down for some time, so you still need your regular medical creams.

I always worry that using raw plant gel directly on my eczema might trigger a worse reaction or infection. Has anyone here actually had a bad experience or breakout after using natural aloe? I am too scared to try it on my face.

I have had eczema on my hands for five years and used fresh aloe often. It works great for cooling down the burning sensation, but it dries out very fast. You must apply a thick, unscented moisturizer right over it to lock the moisture in.

Haan, raw aloe plant is really good for cooling the skin, especially in summers na. Just wash the leaf properly to remove the yellow liquid before scraping the gel out. If itching doesn't stop, then better consult a skin specialist.
