Does alcoholic hepatitis go away?

My son-in-law was diagnosed with alcoholic hepatitis, and we are all very worried. The doctor explained some things, but I'm still unclear if this condition can completely go away with treatment and abstinence, or if it's permanent.

Yes, it can improve significantly if you catch it early and stop alcohol completely. A clean diet with high protein and zero processed foods helps the liver cells regenerate. Your body is highly resilient if you feed it right and stay active.

My uncle went through this last year and it was really scary for the family. But the good news is that once he strictly quit drinking, his liver started healing and his jaundice went away. It takes time, but with proper medical care, it can get much better.

Yes, it can reverse if you completely stop drinking alcohol, but you must follow a doctor's treatment plan closely.

Mild to moderate cases of alcoholic hepatitis can resolve if alcohol is permanently avoided. However, my doctor emphasized that if the drinking continues, it quickly progresses to irreversible cirrhosis. Early medical intervention and nutritional support are absolutely vital.

With my thyroid, I know how critical regular blood monitoring is for any organ recovery. For alcoholic hepatitis, you must keep tracking your Liver Function Tests (LFT) and follow up with a hepatologist regularly to ensure the inflammation is going down.
