Does aetna cover yellow fever vaccine?

I'm planning a trip to Africa next year, and they require a yellow fever vaccine. I wanted to know if Aetna covers the yellow fever vaccine costs.

Unless you plan on getting cozy with some exotic mosquitoes, you only need this for travel! Aetna generally covers it if it is required for your trip, but make sure to check if you need to go to a specific authorized clinic to get the stamp.

I am also planning an international trip soon and was wondering about this. Does Aetna require you to pay first and claim later, or is it directly cashless at the clinic?

My family physician informed me that since yellow fever is a mandatory requirement for entering certain countries, most preventive insurance plans cover it. However, he warned that you must get it at least 10 days before travel for it to be valid, so plan your clinic visit early.

I got my yellow fever shot last month for my Africa trip. Aetna covered it 100% at the travel clinic I went to, but I had to show my itinerary to prove it was needed for travel.

Getting all these vaccines before a vacation feels like preparing for war! But yes, Aetna usually covers it, so at least your wallet won't feel the pain, even if your arm does for a day.
