Does adderall hurt your liver?

A friend of mine who lives abroad told me he's taking Adderall for his ADHD. I'm just curious, is it true that medications like Adderall can cause damage to your liver over time?

While liver damage is quite rare with standard therapeutic doses, abuse or extremely high doses can certainly lead to hepatic issues. It is absolutely essential to have a balanced discussion with your doctor and get routine liver function tests done.

Since I manage PCOS, I am always very careful about how different medications load our organs. From what I know, it is generally processed by the kidneys more, but any heavy long-term medicine can stress the liver, so we should always be careful.

I track my biomarkers regularly on HealthifyMe and keep an eye on liver health. If you are taking any strong prescription stimulant, log your water intake and monitor symptoms like fatigue or skin changes; a doctor can clarify if your liver enzymes are normal.

I always consult my specialists at Apollo for any side effects related to chronic medications. You should directly ask your doctor to run a basic liver function test (LFT) panel to be absolutely safe and sure.

Babu, jyada garam dawaiya khane se sharir ke andar asar toh padta hi hai. Aap thoda dhyan rakho, bohot sara pani piyo aur ek baar doctor babu se pooch lo ki koi nuksan toh nahi ho raha.
