Does acetaminophen lower fever?

My niece has a high fever, and her mom is panicking. I want to tell her what to give, but I'm not entirely sure. Does acetaminophen effectively lower fever?

Yes, it definitely lowers fever. Instead of running to expensive clinics immediately, a simple paracetamol tablet and putting a wet cloth on the forehead works wonders for a basic fever. Just keep track of the temperature.

It is the most common medicine used to lower fever. Just make sure to keep a gap of at least 4 to 6 hours between doses, and don't take it on a completely empty stomach to avoid acidity.

Yes, it is very effective for bringing down a fever. Make sure you stay well hydrated with water and coconut water, and take rest. Skip the gym until your body temperature is fully back to normal.

I used to get so scared when my body temperature crossed 100 and would worry constantly. But I realized a single dose of this medicine brings it down smoothly within an hour. It is very standard and nothing to panic about.

Yes, it does. It is a very cheap and effective medicine, usually costing just a few rupees per strip. Keep a strip at home so you don't have to buy expensive emergency medicines at night.

In our times, we always relied on simple paracetamol for fever, and it has worked safely for generations. There is no need to worry. Just rest, eat some warm khichdi, and you will feel better soon.

Yes, it works well. But if your fever persists for more than 3 days, please get blood tests done to check for dengue or thyroid flares, and follow up with your doctor immediately.
