Does acetaminophen help with stomach pain?

I've been having really bad stomach pain since morning, it's a dull ache but persistent. I have some acetaminophen at home. Does it help with stomach pain, or is it only for headaches?

Actually, it doesn't help much with stomach cramps or gas pain. Since I manage high BP, I try to avoid self-medicating with random pills for stomach issues. Please get a proper checkup if the pain is severe or continuous.

No, it doesn't work well for stomach aches. I log my food and symptoms on my fitness app, and usually, stomach pain is just acidity or indigestion which needs an antacid or spasm reliever. Always consult your doctor before taking any tablets.

My family physician explained that acetaminophen is a general pain reliever but ineffective for gastrointestinal spasms. In fact, if you have stomach ulcers or gastritis, self-medicating with wrong painkillers can irritate things further. Get a proper diagnosis.

I tried taking it once during a busy workday for a stomach cramp, and it did absolutely nothing. Had to go to the clinic and get a proper antispasmodic. Save your time and consult a doctor instead of hoping paracetamol will work.

Acetaminophen is generally not the first line of treatment for abdominal pain because it doesn't target smooth muscle spasms. Taking painkillers blindly can also mask symptoms of conditions like appendicitis. It is best to consult a doctor to diagnose the cause.

Stomach pain usually needs a different kind of medicine, not basic paracetamol. Try drinking warm fennel water or using a hot water bag for quick relief at home. If the pain is very sharp or doesn't go away in a few hours, please visit a clinic.
