Does accutane cause back pain?

I started Accutane for my acne a few weeks ago, and now I'm having constant lower back pain. It's quite uncomfortable, especially after sitting for a while. Is back pain a common side effect of this medicine?

Yes, joint and back pain are very common with this medicine because it dries out the body. I used to apply warm sesame oil and drink warm turmeric milk at night, which helped a lot. Also make sure you drink at least 3 liters of water daily to keep things hydrated.

Don't panic, this is a very known side effect of isotretinoin. Just make sure you are not doing heavy lifting or strenuous workouts right now. Talk to your dermatologist about this in your next visit; they might adjust your dosage to make you comfortable.

Honestly, when I was on it, my back felt like I was 80 years old instead of 25. It is totally normal but super annoying when you are trying to sleep. Just keep drinking water like a fish and tell your doc if it gets unbearable.

Haan, bilkul hota hai. It dries up the lubrication in your joints, which causes this ache. Don't ignore it and don't start self-medicating with pain killers. Directly ask your skin doctor, they will guide you properly.

I faced severe lower back pain during my course which made sitting at my desk very difficult. Stretching every hour and keeping a lumbar support pillow helped me manage my workdays. If it is affecting your daily work, get your doctor to review the dose immediately.

Yes, it can cause some back stiffness and pain! Just remember to stay super hydrated and take light walks instead of heavy gym sessions. It usually goes away once the treatment is finished, so hang in there! 😊
