Does accidental death and dismemberment cover heart attack?

I am reviewing my insurance policy documents these days. Our AD&D policy is up for renewal, and I wanted to clarify if it covers critical illnesses like a heart attack, or only accidents. Can someone help me understand this better?

No beta, as far as I know, these policies only cover sudden accidents and physical injuries. A heart attack is a medical illness, not an accident. Please keep a separate health insurance policy and do breathing exercises daily to keep your heart healthy.

Actually, AD&D plans do not cover heart attacks because they are classified as natural or medical deaths. Accidental policies only trigger if there is some external trauma. You should look into critical illness riders or standard health insurance for heart conditions.

Typically it doesn't cover heart attacks. Don't worry too much, but please double check the exact terms of your policy documents to be absolutely sure. Hope you and your family stay safe.

Man, insurance companies have so many rules that it makes my head spin at 2 AM. Short answer is no, they won't pay for a heart attack under accidental cover because they count it as a natural disease. Best to buy a proper health plan and avoid the headache later.

I have high blood pressure, so I looked into this recently. AD&D won't cover heart issues; you need a proper medical plan or a critical illness cover. Please get your BP and cholesterol checked regularly and don't rely only on basic accidental policies.
