Does abilify cause diabetes?

My wife recently started taking a new medication, and we're trying to understand all the potential side effects. I read somewhere that some medicines can cause diabetes. Does Abilify specifically have a risk of causing diabetes?

These modern strong medicines can sometimes disturb our body's natural balance. Yes, they can affect sugar levels, so you must keep a close check. Along with your doctor's medicine, eat simple home-cooked meals and drink warm water to keep your body clean.

Some antipsychotic medications like Abilify can affect your blood sugar levels and increase the risk of diabetes. I had severe blood sugar fluctuations on a similar medication, so please be extremely cautious. It is very important to consult your psychiatrist and get regular HbA1c tests done.

Hey, don't stress too much about it! While it is a known side effect that it can affect blood sugar, it doesn't happen to everyone. Just talk to your doctor, they will monitor your blood work regularly to keep you safe.

Abilify is known to have metabolic side effects, including potential insulin resistance. If you are on this med, tracking your diet and doing daily strength training is super important to keep your insulin sensitivity high. Always keep your doc in the loop about your fitness routine.

It is true that some of these medications can raise blood sugar. Please don't worry too much, but do let your doctor know so they can monitor your health safely.
