Does a stent prevent a heart attack?

My doctor recently recommended a stent procedure for my blocked arteries. I'm wondering if getting a stent means I'll be completely safe from having a heart attack in the future. Does it prevent heart attacks entirely?

Yes, it opens up the blocked artery to prevent an immediate attack, but you still have to take your medicines regularly.

I ignored my mild chest tightness thinking it was acidity until I ended up needing an emergency stent. A stent saves your life by opening a major block, but it doesn't mean you are cured forever. Please get regular heart checkups and never ignore even a small symptom.

My uncle got a stent last year. From what I understand, it fixes the current block so blood can flow, but it won't stop new blocks if you keep eating junk. It's like fixing one pothole, you still have to drive carefully!

For us diabetics, keeping arteries clear is a daily battle. A stent keeps one path open, but high blood sugar can damage other vessels. You must strictly control your sugar and diet even after a stent procedure to stay safe.

A stent is like a tiny umbrella inside your artery keeping the roof up! It does a great job, but don't expect it to do all the heavy lifting while you sit on the couch eating samosas. Give your little umbrella some help with a better lifestyle!

A stent is excellent for acute situations like an ongoing heart attack to restore blood flow immediately. However, my cardiologist explained that it doesn't prevent future plaque buildup in other arteries. Blood thinners and cholesterol management are still mandatory.

Haan na, people think stent lag gaya toh life sorted. But actually it only clears that one blocked spot. We still have to take BP medicines and eat less oil, ho na? It's a second chance, we must handle it carefully.

While a stent restores local blood flow, heart health is systemic. Only your cardiologist can evaluate your overall risk profile and prescribe the right preventive therapies. Relying solely on the stent without medical follow-up is not advisable.

My dad had a stent put in recently. It definitely reduces the risk of a heart attack by clearing the main block, but the doc told us point-blank that lifestyle changes are 100% necessary. You can't just get a stent and go back to smoking or eating oily food.

Think of a stent as a helpful repair job. To keep the heart running well, we have to do simple things daily: a 30-minute walk, eating boiled or low-oil sabzi, and taking prescribed tablets on time. That's the real prevention.
