Does a stent for kidney stones hurt?

I've been having a lot of pain because of kidney stones, and the doctor suggested putting in a stent. I'm really worried about the procedure and if it will hurt afterwards. Does having a stent for kidney stones typically cause much pain?

The stent does cause a pinch and some heavy aching in the lower back, especially when you pass urine. I found that doing very gentle, slow deep breathing helped me relax the pelvic muscles and manage that irritating sensation much better.

When my dad had a kidney stent, I tracked his daily water intake using a hydration app. Honestly, there is some discomfort and a constant urge to pee, but keeping your water intake high really dilutes the urine and reduces the burning sensation.

Yes, it hurts a bit and feels very uncomfortable, so keep some budget aside for the pain relief medicines your doc prescribes. Also, plan your leaves from work because you won't be able to run around much for the first few days while the stent is inside.

Bro, honestly it's more annoying than super painful. You constantly feel like you need to rush to the washroom, and there is a dull ache. Just don't lift heavy weights or do intense workouts till they take it out.

My teenage son had a stent placed last year after his stone surgery. It does cause a crampy feeling and some burning, which made him very cranky. We kept him on light home-cooked meals, lots of coconut water, and made sure he rested well.

I totally get it, the thought of having a tube inside you is super scary and uncomfortable. The pain isn't unbearable, but it is a constant nagging discomfort. Just hold on, once they pull it out, the relief is instant and amazing.

My urologist explained that the stent can irritate the bladder lining, which causes that pulling pain and blood in urine sometimes. They usually prescribe specific spasm-relievers to manage this. Don't skip those medicines, they make the stent much more tolerable.

I had a stent for two weeks and yes, it does pinch quite a bit when you walk or pee. I'd suggest wearing loose clothes and avoiding any long travels. Drinking warm water throughout the day really helped soothe the spasms for me.

It is a bit painful and highly uncomfortable, yes. Please take proper rest and follow your doctor's advice. This phase will pass very soon, so don't worry.

Look, it feels like a heavy pressure in your kidney area, especially when you bladder is full. The simple solution is to never hold your urine and drink plenty of liquids. Avoid running or climbing too many stairs to keep the irritation low.
