Does a heart attack feel like a pulled muscle?

Yesterday, I had a sudden sharp pain in my chest that felt a bit like a pulled muscle in my upper arm. It made me quite scared for a moment. Can a heart attack sometimes feel like just a muscle strain, or should I be more worried about any chest pain?

Yes, a heart attack can sometimes be mistaken for a pulled muscle, especially if the pain is mild or radiates to the shoulder and back. However, because a heart attack is a critical medical emergency, you should never try to self-diagnose. If there is chest discomfort accompanied by sweating or breathlessness, please go to a hospital immediately.

When my father had a heart attack, he honestly thought he had just pulled a muscle in his left shoulder while gardening. Luckily, my mother noticed he was also sweating and looking very pale, so she rushed him to the emergency room just in time. It can be very easy to confuse the two.

Actually, it can feel like a pulled muscle or even bad acidity sometimes, yaar. But if that pain is also making you feel dizzy, heavy, or breathless, then don't sit at home thinking it's just gym pain. Get to a doctor immediately to be safe.

Oh God, I constantly overthink this! Every time I get a minor ache in my chest or left arm after working out, I start panicking that it is a heart issue and my anxiety makes my heart race even more. If you are worried, please just get an ECG done at a local clinic—it only takes five minutes and will save you hours of panic.

I know how terrifying it is when you feel a sudden pain in your chest or arm and you start wondering if it is something fatal. It is completely normal to feel scared and anxious during these moments. Please don't take any chances—getting checked by a doctor right away will give you the peace of mind you need.
