Does a cold come with a fever?

My daughter has been having a cough and runny nose for a couple of days, and now she's developed a fever. I'm wondering if this is typical. Does a common cold usually come with a fever, or should I be more concerned?

Not always, buddy. Usually, a mild cold is just sneezing and congestion, but sometimes a low fever can happen if your immunity is fighting it off. When it happens to me, I skip the heavy workouts, focus on hydration, and eat clean, warm foods till I recover.

People online will tell you ten different things, but everyone's body reacts differently. Sometimes a viral cold can turn into a fever, and sometimes it's just congestion. If your temperature goes high, stop searching online and just consult a general physician directly.

In many cases, a simple cold doesn't bring a fever, though a mild warm feeling is possible. I find that drinking hot ginger-tulsi tea and having light, warm khichdi really helps clear the throat. Stay away from cold curd or heavy meals if you feel a fever starting.

It can happen, but usually, a cold is just nose congestion. Since I have high BP, I have to be very careful with cold medicines because some of them can raise blood pressure. I always get my vitals checked by my doctor before taking any tablets.

From what I've experienced, a cold doesn't always cause a fever, but it can make you feel extremely drained. With my PCOS, my immunity sometimes feels low, so even a small cold takes time to go. It's best to track your symptoms for a day or two and see how it goes.

Sometimes our body gets tired and needs to rest, which is why a cold or a slight fever comes to slow us down. Keep your mind peaceful and positive, stay warm, and let your body heal naturally. Take some steam and let it pass.
