Does a cold cloth help fever?

My son has a high fever, and I'm trying everything to bring it down. My grandmother always put a cold cloth on our foreheads when we had fever. Does a cold cloth really help to bring down a fever?

It is a good way to bring down the temperature temporarily and feel more comfortable. But remember it doesn't cure the underlying infection causing the fever. It's always best to consult a doctor if the fever persists for more than 48 hours.

Dekho, fever directly treat nahi karega par body temperature down karne me bohot help milti hai. Don't use ice cold water, normal room temperature paani is best. Forehead aur neck pe sponge karo, fast relief milega.

Yes, it works well. Just dip a clean cloth in lukewarm or normal water, squeeze it, and apply to the forehead, armpits, or groin area where blood vessels are close to the skin. Avoid ice water as it can cause shivering, which actually increases internal body heat.

Personally, whenever I get a high fever, putting a damp cloth on my forehead is the only thing that helps me rest. It doesn't cure the fever, but the soothing feeling helps me fall asleep. I just use normal tap water, not freezing cold.

I totally get it, dealing with a burning fever is so exhausting and uncomfortable. Putting a wet cloth on your head really helps soothe that heavy feeling in the eyes. I hope you feel better soon, make sure you take plenty of rest and drink lots of water.

Ghar pe yehi sabse aasan aur safe tareeka hai jab tak doctor ke paas nahi jaate. Normal paani lo aur saaf kapda bhigo ke sir pe rakho. But agar thand lag rahi ho ya shivering ho rahi ho to stop instantly, tab normal blanket odh ke rest karo.

Honestly, whenever I get sick in college, my roommate just puts a wet towel on my head. It feels amazing and helps me sleep off the headache. Definitely try it, but dont skip your medicines if you have high fever.
