Does 4 stroke need oil in fuel?

My old bike is a 4-stroke engine, and my father keeps telling me I need to mix oil in the petrol. But I thought only 2-stroke engines need oil in the fuel. Do 4-stroke engines also require oil in the fuel tank, or is he mistaken?

I completely understand how confusing and stressful all these technical terms can be when you are new to maintaining a vehicle. Don't worry, you don't need to mix oil in the fuel for a 4-stroke engine. It has a completely separate oil compartment, so you can just put pure petrol in the fuel tank.

I remember panicking when a local petrol pump guy asked if I wanted '2T' oil mixed in my new scooter, and I thought I would ruin my engine by saying no! Later, my brother explained that 4-stroke engines only take pure fuel and have their own oil tank. It's completely normal to be confused at first, you're fine!

Haan na, bilkul zarurat nahi hoti. 4-stroke gaadiyo mein separate engine oil compartment hota hai. Agar petrol ke sath tel mila diya toh engine se bohot dhuwan aane lagega aur bike kharab ho sakti hai.

No need to spend extra money on mixing oils at the petrol pump. Just tell the attendant to put plain petrol. Simply take your bike to a local service center every few months for a basic oil change, and that will keep your vehicle healthy and cost-effective.

Chill bro, don't stress too much! Just put regular petrol in your tank and you are good to go. Only older 2-stroke scooters like Chetak needed oil in the fuel. Your modern bike does all the lubrication internally!

Mechanically, 4-stroke engines use a closed-loop lubrication system where oil is circulated from the oil pan via a pump. Mixing oil directly into the gasoline, like in older 2-stroke systems, will result in incomplete combustion, heavy smoke, and potential catalytic converter failure. Only use clean fuel.

I have been riding bikes for twenty years. A 4-stroke engine does not need oil in the petrol. Just make sure you change your engine oil every 2500-3000 km, check the level using the dipstick monthly, and your engine will run like butter.

No, absolutely not. Mixing oil in the fuel of a 4-stroke engine will clog your spark plugs and damage the fuel injectors. Keep the petrol clean and just change the engine oil in the crankcase during regular service.
