Do you run fever with cancer?

My friend recently got diagnosed with cancer, and he mentioned he had unexplained fevers for a while. I've been feeling a bit fatigued myself and sometimes feel warm. Is a fever a common symptom that can occur with various types of cancer?

When my uncle started running a mild fever during his diagnosis, we panicked thinking the disease was spreading rapidly. The doctors reassured us that fever can happen due to various reasons, including simple low immunity, and managed it safely.

During my lymphoma treatment, I did run a fever quite often, especially after my chemotherapy sessions when my white blood cell count dropped. It is a very serious symptom during treatment, so we had to report it to our oncologist immediately.

I was researching this for an awareness camp and found that fever is actually a common side effect of cancer treatments because they lower your immunity, making you more prone to minor infections.

Please do not search online for home remedies for a fever if the patient has cancer. A fever in cancer patients can indicate a serious infection that requires immediate medical attention at a proper hospital.

Fever can definitely be a symptom of certain types of cancer, like leukemia or lymphoma, or it could be a side effect of chemotherapy. Do not try to guess or ignore it; get in touch with an oncologist immediately.

A fever can happen with certain cancers or during treatment due to infections. Since managing diabetes requires keeping your body free from infections to avoid blood sugar spikes, any fever should be reported to your doctor right away.

Yes, a fever can occur, especially if the body's immunity is low during cancer therapy. While our elders suggest simple warm broths to soothe the patient, we must strictly follow the oncologist's protocol for any temperature rise.
