Do you run a high fever with the flu?

My son has been feeling very unwell since yesterday, with body aches and a bad cough. My mother-in-law said it sounds like the flu, and that with the flu, you usually get a really high fever. Is that generally true for the flu?

Actually yaar, flu me high fever is super common. Last season my temperature touched 103 and I was literally shivering under two blankets. Just take rest and keep checking your temperature.

Haan, flu me toh bohot tej bukhar aata hi hai, pure badan me dard bhi hota hai. Apne aap ko dehydrated mat hone dena aur thoda nariyal paani peete rehna na.

Yes, the flu often brings a sudden high fever. Don't waste time trying to work through it or waiting for it to drop; consult a doctor online, take your meds, and apply damp cloth strips on your forehead to manage it.

I totally panicked when my fever shot up to 102.5 on day one, thinking it was something very dangerous. But the doctor reassured me that a high fever is just the body's normal way of fighting off the influenza virus.

When my 8-year-old had the flu, his fever touched 103 degrees. I kept him in comfortable cotton clothes, gave him sponge baths with room-temperature water, and strictly followed the pediatrician's dosage schedule.

Oh yes, the flu definitely loves to bring a high fever along with it! Just stay hydrated with some nice warm soups, keep resting, and you'll be smiling again in no time! 🍵
