Do you run a fever with walking pneumonia?

I've been feeling quite unwell with a persistent cough and fatigue, but my fever has been very low-grade or non-existent. Someone mentioned it could be 'walking pneumonia'. Does walking pneumonia usually come with a fever, or is it often subtle?

Honestly, I was coughing like crazy and had this low-grade fever that made me feel like a walking zombie. I thought it was just lack of sleep from my night shifts until the doc told me it was walking pneumonia.

Yes, walking pneumonia usually causes a mild, low-grade fever rather than a very high one, which is why people often mistake it for a common cold. Please rest well and don't push yourself physically until you recover.

When I had walking pneumonia last winter, I only ran a very mild fever that came and went, but the fatigue was real. I am just sharing my experience, so please consult a professional for your own diagnosis.

Beta, a mild fever can definitely happen with this. Along with the doctor's tablets, you can do warm steam inhalation with some mint leaves to clear your chest congestion and soothe the throat.

At my age, my body runs a fever just from looking at stairs, but yes, walking pneumonia gave me a mild fever and a nagging cough. It doesn't put you in bed, but it definitely makes you feel like an old running engine.

I've had a persistent dry cough and a 99-degree fever for over a week now and I'm starting to get worried. Did anyone else have these exact mild symptoms before finding out it was walking pneumonia?

Yes, a low-grade fever is quite typical. My grandmother suggested drinking warm pepper rasam to help with the cough, but we made sure to consult our family doctor for the proper course of antibiotics.
