Do you run a fever with pneumonia?

I've had a persistent cough and chest congestion for a while, and my family is worried it could be pneumonia. I don't have a fever currently. Is a fever always present with pneumonia, or can one have it without a high temperature?

Yes, absolutely, a high fever is very common with pneumonia and it often comes with severe shivering. My father had it last winter and his temperature wouldn't easily come down, so please keep a close eye on it.

Fever is one of the main signs of pneumonia. Along with your doctor's medicines, keep a digital thermometer at home to check the temperature every few hours and keep doing warm steam inhalation for chest congestion.

I am not a medical expert, but I know that pneumonia usually causes a significant fever along with a bad cough. Since our immunity can already be a bit tricky to manage, it is always safer to consult a physician immediately.

I completely understand how terrifying it feels when you have a rattling cough and a high fever starts. It makes you feel so helpless, but getting to a doctor early and starting the right antibiotics will help put your mind at ease.

I just recovered from pneumonia two weeks ago and yes, the fever was brutal, constantly touching 102. It only started going down after the third day of taking the antibiotics prescribed by my pulmonologist.

Oh yes, pneumonia will make you feel like a hot toaster with all that fever and shivering! But don't worry, once the doc gives you the right meds, you'll be back to your normal self soon.

A fever is very common with pneumonia, but you must get a proper medical evaluation. It is a serious lung infection and self-treatment is highly risky, so please visit a clinic today.

Please do not take this lightly. When I had pneumonia, I ignored the mild fever for a week until I started having severe breathing trouble and had to be hospitalized; please see a doctor immediately.

Pneumonia me toh tej bukhar aata hi hai babu. Isme chhati me dard aur khansi bhi hoti hai, isliye turant bade doctor ko dikhana chahiye aur bilkul laparvahi nahi karni chahiye.

Yes, fever is a major symptom. Don't waste time trying to work through it or taking random over-the-counter pills; get an X-ray and see a specialist immediately so you don't end up needing long sick leave.
