Do you run a fever with measles?

There's been some talk about measles cases in our area, and I want to be prepared. My son is vaccinated, but I'm still curious about the symptoms. Does measles always present with a high fever, or can it be mild?

Haan na, measles me toh high fever hota hi hai, and it starts even before the red rashes appear. My son had such a burning forehead for three whole days. Keep checking his temperature and consult a doc immediately.

Yes, according to most medical trackers, a very high fever (sometimes touching 104F) is one of the primary symptoms of measles. It usually peaks when the rash finally breaks out, so keeping a digital log of the temperature spikes is super helpful for your doctor.

My brother has a fever of 103 today along with a runny nose and some small spots inside his mouth. I am so scared this is measles. Did anyone else experience such a sudden, intense fever before the main skin rashes showed up?

It is completely natural to feel panicky when seeing a high fever with measles, especially with all the scary stuff you read online. I went through the same anxiety when my cousin got it, but getting timely medical care really helps calm those fears.

Look, measles is not a normal flu, it comes with a solid high fever and it can be dangerous. Don't sit at home trying to manage it yourself or waiting for the fever to go down. Take the patient to a hospital right now.

I totally get it, seeing a loved one burning with a high measles fever is incredibly stressful. It usually lasts for a few days along with coughing and red eyes. Just stay strong, keep them isolated, and let the doctor guide you through the recovery.

I was actually researching this yesterday for a college project on infectious diseases. From what I read, measles almost always begins with a fever, cough, and watery eyes before you see any of the signature red spots on the skin.
