Do you run a fever with hand foot and mouth?

My niece recently had Hand, Foot, and Mouth disease, and now my son has developed some rashes and blisters. His temperature seems normal for now. Do kids typically run a fever with Hand, Foot, and Mouth, or can it be present without one?

My niece just had this last month and she got a really high fever right before the rashes showed up. It was so scary initially but our doc said it is totally normal with HFMD. Just focus on keeping them hydrated with cool drinks because their throat might hurt too.

I am actually reading about this disease for the first time because my neighbor's kid has it. Does the fever always happen first, or can the blisters come without any fever at all? Sorry if this is a basic question, just trying to understand.

Please be very careful with the fever. When my son got HFMD, his temperature shot up so fast and he stopped drinking water completely because of painful throat ulcers, which led to severe dehydration. It is best to consult your pediatrician immediately to manage the fever safely.

Yes, your body runs a fever to fight off the viral infection, which is a natural response. Since it drains a lot of energy and you can't eat solid foods easily, try taking chilled protein shakes or thin curd to keep your energy up while resting.

Haan na, fever is almost always the first sign with hand foot mouth. My daughter had a mild warm body for two days before those annoying spots came. Don't worry too much, just give them soft food like khichdi and lots of rest.

I have seen this in my own kids and many society children over the years. Yes, a mild to moderate fever for 2-3 days is classic HFMD. Just use a damp cloth to wipe their forehead and give them cold milkshakes or coconut water to soothe the mouth sores.

Yes, fever is common. If you are a working parent, better take 2-3 days off now because the child will be very cranky and needs constant care. Don't self-medicate to rush back to work; get a proper prescription from the doctor first.

My toddler is down with a 102 fever today and now I am seeing tiny red spots on her palms. I am so stressed right now. Did anyone else's child have a very high fever that didn't go down easily with basic medicine?
