Do you run a fever with a virus?

My daughter has been down with a viral infection for a few days, but she hasn't had any fever. Usually, I thought a fever was common with any virus. Is it possible to have a viral infection without developing a fever?

Yes, a fever is very common when your body is fighting a virus. I usually drink warm tulsi-ginger water and take plenty of rest to help my immune system. However, if the fever goes very high or doesn't come down in three days, please consult a doctor.

A viral fever can make you feel extremely weak and exhausted. I always go to a proper clinic to get my blood tested if the fever doesn't subside. Please consult your physician clearly about what symptoms to watch out for.

Yes, a fever is the body's natural way of fighting off a virus. Keep yourself well hydrated, rest as much as you can, and take care.

According to my doctor, a fever is actually a sign that your immune response is active against the viral pathogen. It typically lasts for 3 to 5 days with viral infections. If it persists beyond that or is accompanied by breathing difficulties, a clinic visit is necessary.

Fever is standard during any viral infection, it means your immune system is working. Don't run to take antibiotics because they don't work on viruses anyway. Just rest, monitor your temperature, and see a doctor if it stays high.
