Do you pee blood with kidney stones?

I've been having excruciating pain in my side for the past few hours, and when I went to the washroom, my urine looked reddish. My father once had kidney stones, and he said he saw blood. Is peeing blood a common symptom when you have kidney stones?

Yes, hematuria is quite common with kidney stones because the sharp edges of the stone scratch the inner lining. When I had my stone issue, my BP also shot up due to the sheer pain and stress. You should get a complete urine routine test and check your blood pressure as well.

Seeing blood in your urine can be really scary but it is a classic sign of a moving stone. Don't waste time searching for home cures online if this is happening. Book a quick consultation with a urologist on any health app today and get an ultrasound done.

Yes, it happens because the stone scrapes the tract. Please drink plenty of water and see a doctor immediately.

When I had a 6mm kidney stone, my urine was pinkish-red for two days. The doctor told me it was just because of the friction, but it is definitely something that needs a proper medical evaluation.

I went to a major multi-specialty hospital when this happened to me because I was terrified. The urologist there explained the whole process clearly and put me at ease. Go to a good hospital and ask your doctor all your doubts directly instead of worrying.

It can happen when the stone is trying to pass through the narrow tube. To manage, keep drinking barley water or normal warm water continuously. However, if there is a lot of blood or severe pain, please go straight to a nearby clinic without waiting.

Omg yes, my roommate went through this during exams and she was panicking so much after seeing the red colour in the toilet. It is apparently super common with stones, but she had to go to the clinic and get some pain relief meds.
