Do you pee a lot with kidney stones?

I've been having some dull pain in my back, and a friend said it could be kidney stones. I've also noticed I'm going to the bathroom much more often these days. Is frequent urination a common symptom of kidney stones?

My uncle used to say drinking tender coconut water cures everything, but when I had a stone, the urge to pee was constant and painful. Please don't rely only on home remedies for this. I went straight to our family physician and got a proper scan done.

I totally get it, that constant pressure to use the washroom is so exhausting and frustrating. It feels like you have to go every five minutes but only a few drops come out. Hang in there and please drink lots of water, but do show a doctor soon.

I know exactly how terrifying it feels when your body starts behaving like this, it makes you think of the worst-case scenarios. I used to panic every time I felt that sudden pressure to pee during my stone episode. Just take a deep breath and consult a doc, it is a very common symptom and manageable.

Actually yes, the irritation makes you want to run to the toilet repeatedly. The most practical thing is to keep a water bottle with you and keep sipping all day to help flush it out. Also, get a cheap ultrasound done at a local lab so you have the report ready for the doctor.

Dealing with chronic issues has taught me that we should never guess what is happening inside the body. Whether it is thyroid or kidney stones, regular tests are the only way to know the truth. Go get an ultrasound and keep following up with your urologist regularly.

My son had a small stone last year and he was running to the bathroom every ten minutes crying. It is because the stone irritates the bladder wall, making you feel like you have to go. We kept him hydrated with fresh lime juice and simple water, and the doctor gave some medicines to relax the tract.
