Do you only dream in rem sleep?

I've always been a vivid dreamer, and sometimes I feel like I'm dreaming all night. I read somewhere that dreams only happen during REM sleep. Is it true that you only dream when you are in the REM stage of sleep, or can dreams occur in other stages too?

Actually, you can dream in non-REM stages too, though REM dreams are usually the most vivid. It's a completely normal brain function.

I have been having extremely vivid dreams lately and waking up feeling super tired, which makes me anxious. Does anyone else feel like they are dreaming the entire night without getting any actual rest? I hope it's normal.

Haan, mostly REM sleep mein hi intense dreams aate hain, par non-REM mein bhi thode bohot dreams toh ho hi sakte hain na. Dream study bohot complex hai, toh zyada tension mat lo. Bas chain ki neend so jao, baki sab normal hai.

I used to think we only dream during REM, but I read that you can have dreams in other stages too. Personally, I remember my weirdest dreams when I wake up suddenly in the middle of the night. It is just how our brain processes things.

I used to panic thinking my constant dreaming meant I wasn't getting deep sleep at all. But after reading up and consulting a specialist, I learned dreaming happens across different sleep stages and is totally healthy. Don't worry, your brain is just doing its job.

From what we see, most of your vivid, story-like dreams happen during REM sleep, but minor dreaming can occur in non-REM phases too. If you're waking up fresh, your sleep cycles are likely fine. Try to keep a consistent bedtime routine to support healthy sleep cycles.

Vivid dreams and sleep issues can really take an emotional toll on you, I completely understand how exhausting it feels. While dreaming can happen in non-REM too, REM is where the intense ones occur. Please be gentle with yourself and try to rest.

Sleep quality directly impacts muscle recovery, and dreaming happens in different stages, not just REM. I always track my sleep cycles to make sure I am getting enough deep sleep. Focusing on a clean diet and avoiding screen time before bed really helps.
