Do you need to fast for tb blood test?

My office is doing mandatory health screenings, and I have a TB blood test scheduled. My colleague said we don't need to fast, but I wanted to be sure. Is it okay to eat and drink normally before a TB blood test, or is fasting required?

There is no need to keep your body hungry for a TB blood test. Simply eat a light, balanced meal and keep your mind calm and peaceful before going to the clinic.

You don't need to fast, so don't worry about adjusting your meal plans. Also, compare rates between local accredited labs first, as TB blood tests can be quite expensive compared to the skin test.

No fasting is required for a TB blood test. However, if you are also getting your annual lipid profile or sugar levels checked alongside, please remember to fast. Regular checkups are essential for our long-term health.

I agree with everyone else. Fasting is completely unnecessary for a TB blood test, so feel free to eat.

You do not need to fast for this test. However, if you are experiencing a chronic cough or night sweats, please do not rely only on home remedies like turmeric milk. Consult a qualified doctor immediately.

I was actually researching this online because my friend has to get tested soon. It turns out the TB blood test looks for specific immune responses, which aren't affected by food at all. Good to know!

I can only share my own experience, but when I took the QuantiFERON-TB test, the nurse told me I didn't need to fast at all. I had my regular breakfast and the results were perfectly accurate.

My daughter had to get this test done for school admission. The doctor assured me she didn't need to fast, which was such a relief because managing an empty stomach with kids is so difficult. Just give them a light snack before going.

At Fortis Hospital, the lab technicians clearly stated that fasting is not required for a TB IGRA blood test. However, it is always a good practice to ask your prescribing doctor clearly to avoid any confusion.

Bro, I got the TB blood test done last month for my visa. I had a heavy chicken roll just an hour before going, and the lab guy said it doesn't affect the test at all. So don't worry, just eat.

Don't worry, kiddo. You don't have to go on an empty stomach for a TB blood test. Just have your breakfast normally, stay calm, and get it done. I am sure everything will be fine.
