Do you give cpr to someone having a heart attack?

My neighbor recently had a heart attack, and thankfully, he survived. It made me wonder about first aid. If someone is having a heart attack, should you immediately perform CPR, or is there a specific situation where it's needed?

My family always taught me to stay calm during emergencies. Our family doctor explained that CPR is only for cardiac arrest where the person is unresponsive and not breathing. For a heart attack, if they are awake, we should just get them to the hospital immediately.

I actually survived a major heart attack last year. I was fully conscious and in immense pain, and my family correctly did not do CPR; they just rushed me to the hospital. CPR is strictly for when a person collapses and stops breathing entirely.

Bro, honestly, don't do CPR if they are still conscious and breathing. That's only when their heart completely stops and they pass out. If they are awake but having bad chest pain, just call an ambulance or take them to the ER fast.

Haan, bilkul sahi baat hai, log often confuse ho jaate hain. Heart attack mein patient hosh mein hota hai, toh CPR nahi dena chahiye na. CPR toh tab dete hain jab pulse band ho jaye aur insaan behosh ho jaye. Rushing to the hospital is the only way.

It is a common confusion, but please remember: CPR is only for an unresponsive person. If a person is having a heart attack, they are usually awake and breathing. Just keep them calm, loosen tight clothing, and get professional medical help immediately.

Too tired to sleep, but had to reply to this because it's important. Don't start chest compressions on someone who is awake and telling you their chest hurts! CPR is only for when they are completely knocked out and not breathing. Call 108 first.

I've done a first-aid certification course because of health issues in my family. Never give CPR to a conscious heart attack patient as it can make things worse. Make them sit down, ask them to take deep breaths, and call an ambulance right away.
