Do you get paid to donate a kidney in usa?

I've been reading up on organ donation, and some articles mentioned that in certain countries, donors might get compensated. Specifically, I was wondering if you get paid for donating a kidney if you do it in the USA.

Actually no, you don't get paid for it in the US or even here in India. Selling organs is completely illegal everywhere. It is a very noble thing to do to save a life, but please don't fall for anyone promising money for this.

Direct answer is no. Organ donation is purely altruistic in the US, meaning you do it out of goodwill. They only cover your medical expenses and sometimes lost wages, but there is no direct payment or cash reward allowed by their laws.

I have read about this quite a bit on medical forums. It is strictly illegal to sell kidneys or any organs in America, just like in India. Donors do it purely to help their loved ones or as a kind gesture. Stay safe and avoid any shady websites claiming otherwise.

Hey, don't stress too much about these internet rumors! You definitely don't get paid to donate a kidney over there, it's totally illegal. If someone is offering you money online for this, honestly just block them because it's a huge scam.

Yes, completely agree with the others. Legally you cannot get paid any cash for donating a kidney in the USA.

Please be very careful with this. As someone who has faced major health issues, I know that donating a kidney is a massive surgery with life-long changes. You won't get paid for it anyway, but please talk to a proper nephrologist first to understand the physical risks involved.

Bro, absolutely not. I read a whole case study on this in college. You only get your hospital bills covered and maybe some travel support, but zero cash in hand. Doing it for money is a major criminal offense there.

Haha, I was just reading about this while eating my evening chaat! No yaar, you cannot sell your kidney in the US. It's strictly donation only, though they do make sure the donor's medical tests and surgery costs are fully paid for.

I understand how stressful things can get when you are looking up such extreme topics online, I've been there with my health anxieties. Just to give you a clear picture, the US has very strict laws against buying kidneys, so there is no legal way to get paid for it.

Haan na, buying and selling organs is a big crime everywhere. US mein bhi strictly illegal hai ye. Medical expenses are taken care of by the patient's insurance, but pocket mein koi paisa nahi milta trust me.

I totally get it, sometimes when we are in a tight spot financially, such questions come to mind. But honestly, organ trade is completely banned in the US. Please take care of yourself and don't get caught up in any illegal schemes.

Nope, no money for kidney donation in the US! 😊 It is entirely based on volunteering to save someone's life. But it's wonderful that people do it selflessly to help others out!
