Do you get fever with kidney stones?

My friend is suffering from kidney stones and is in intense pain. He also developed a fever recently, and we're wondering if that's a common part of the kidney stone experience or a sign of something else. Should he be concerned about the fever?

I am actually very new to learning about kidney issues because my brother was just diagnosed. Does a fever mean the stone is moving, or is it a sign of something more serious? I would really appreciate if someone could explain this.

Listen, if you have a kidney stone and you develop a fever, that is a major red flag. It usually points to a urinary tract infection (UTI) or kidney infection, which can get serious very fast. Do not wait around, just go see a urologist immediately.

My roommate had a kidney stone last semester and he got a high fever along with crazy lower back pain. He thought it was just normal pain fatigue, but the clinic doctor said the fever meant an infection. Definitely get it checked out by a professional, guys.

I completely panicked when my husband got a sudden fever while dealing with his kidney stone. The doctor reassured us that once we treated the underlying infection with proper antibiotics, the fever went away quickly. It is manageable, so try not to stress too much, just consult your doctor.

Yes, a fever with kidney stones can indicate a complication like a kidney infection. Much like managing thyroid, dealing with kidney stones requires regular monitoring and timely tests. Make sure to get a urine culture and blood test done as advised by your physician.

Having a kidney stone is painful enough, but adding a fever to it is just the body's way of complaining in loud volume. It usually means an infection is gatecrashing the party. Go see your doctor before your body decides to throw any more tantrums.
