Do you get a fever with poison ivy?

Gardening a couple of days ago left me with this really itchy rash on my arm, which I think might be from some plant. My friend mentioned 'poison ivy'. Can you get a fever if you come into contact with something like poison ivy?

Normally a mild skin contact doesn't cause a fever. However, if your skin temperature rises or you develop a systemic fever, it might mean the rash has a secondary bacterial infection. Keep an eye on it.

For diabetics, any skin infection can escalate quickly. If you have a poison ivy rash and run a fever, don't wait at home; get a doctor to check if you need antibiotic ointment.

Going for a peaceful nature walk and returning with a terrible rash is just my luck! But honestly, unless the rash gets infected from all the scratching, a fever is rare.

Our elders advise using cool coconut oil to soothe skin irritation, but a fever is not common with poison ivy. If a fever does develop, please trust modern medical treatment and visit a clinic.

If you have a fever along with a severe skin allergy, it could be a sign of a deeper allergic reaction or skin infection. You should get a doctor to check it out properly.

I completely understand how scary it is when a rash is followed by a warm feeling. Usually, poison ivy doesn't cause a fever, but if you are feeling unwell, a quick doctor's visit will put your mind at ease.

A simple poison ivy rash shouldn't cause a fever. For the itching, applying cold cucumber juice or lacto calamine works wonders, but if you do get a fever, it is better to consult a doctor.

When I got into some wild ivy during a trek, I only had a bad red rash and itching, but no fever at all. I just washed the area with cold soapy water immediately.
