Do you dream in deep sleep?

My friend and I were discussing dreams, and she said we only dream in REM sleep. But what about deep sleep, the non-REM stage? Do we also dream during deep sleep, or is that period completely dreamless?

Actually, dreaming mostly happens in REM sleep, though some light, less vivid dreams can happen in deep sleep too. Keeping a light, plant-based dinner helps your body rest better during deep sleep instead of busy digesting. Take care of your eating habits for better rest.

My smartwatch sleep tracker showed me that we spend very little time dreaming during deep sleep, which is meant for physical recovery. Most of your vivid dreams happen during the REM phase. If you want to improve your deep sleep score, try keeping your room pitch black.

According to sleep studies my doctor shared, dreaming in non-REM deep sleep is rare and usually very fragmented, not like the vivid stories of REM. Deep sleep is when the brain flushes out toxins and consolidates memory. If you feel you aren't waking up refreshed, discuss it with a physician.

Dreams during deep sleep are very rare and usually not remembered. I hope you are getting good, restful sleep every night. Take care.

Hey, don't stress too much about when you are dreaming! Deep sleep is mostly for your body to repair itself, so you rarely remember any dreams from that phase anyway. Just focus on getting a solid 7-8 hours of shut-eye, buddy.
