Do you always have a fever with a sinus infection?

I've had this terrible congestion and headache for days, which feels like a sinus infection. But I haven't developed a fever. Do you always have to have a fever if you have a sinus infection?

In most cases I have seen over the years, a sinus issue mostly brings heavy headaches, facial pressure, and a blocked nose rather than a high fever. You might get a mild temperature if it is acute, but don't assume it isn't sinus just because there's no fever. Keep taking warm steam twice a day, it really helps clear the blockages.

Hamare yahan toh jab bhi sardi-zukam ya sinus hota hai, bina bukhar ke hi sir bhari rehta hai. Iske liye garam paani ki bhaap lena sabse badhiya rehta hai, thoda aaram mil jata hai ghar pe. Par agar zyada takleef ho toh doctor babu ko dikhane mein sankoch mat karna.

Actually, chronic sinusitis rarely presents with a fever; it is usually just persistent congestion, nasal drip, and facial pain. A high fever is more common with sudden acute bacterial infections. If you are feeling a lot of pressure around your eyes and nose, getting a doctor to evaluate it is the best step.

Honestly, I get chronic sinus flare-ups during season changes and I almost never run a fever. It just drains my energy and ruins my workout routine because of the heavy head. I focus on staying super hydrated with warm water and cut down on cold dairy products till the congestion clears up.

With my PCOS, my body's inflammation levels are already quite unpredictable, so when I get a sinus infection, it feels really exhausting even without any fever. I try to be very careful and avoid self-diagnosing because symptoms can overlap. It is always safer to consult a general physician to get the right advice.

I find that my sinus pain gets better when I do very light walking, as the movement helps with nasal drainage, even when my head feels completely blocked without any fever. Just make sure to ask your doctor if it is okay to do light activity. Don't push yourself if you are feeling too dizzy or exhausted though.

Fever? No way, my sinus just prefers to torture me by blocking my nose completely the second my head touches the pillow. I haven't slept properly in three days and there's absolutely no fever, just pure exhaustion and a box of tissues. If anyone has a magic cure for sleep during a sinus block, please share!

I was actually reading up on this recently because my roommate had this intense facial pain but his temperature was totally normal. Apparently, viral sinus infections or allergic sinusitis don't usually cause a fever, while bacterial ones might. Quite interesting how our bodies react differently!
