Do weighted blankets help you sleep?

I've been having trouble sleeping lately, and a friend suggested I try a weighted blanket. He said it helps with anxiety and sleep quality. Do weighted blankets really help you sleep better, or is it just a trend?

Yes, they actually mimic the feeling of a warm hug, which helps calm down an anxious nervous system. If you struggle with sleep, it is a very safe and gentle tool to try, but please don't buy one that is too heavy for your body weight.

They do help with deep pressure stimulation, but I found that a good 30-minute evening walk also works wonders for deep sleep. If your doctor allows regular exercise, try burning some energy during the day and you will sleep naturally.

Haan na, they actually feel very cozy and comfortable, especially when you feel anxious. My sister has one and she sleeps much better now. It is a bit expensive but totally worth trying if you have sleep issues.

According to research on deep touch pressure, weighted blankets promote the release of melatonin and serotonin while reducing cortisol. My doctor also suggested choosing a blanket that is roughly 10% of your body weight for it to be effective and safe.

At my age, any blanket feels heavy enough after a long day of work! But seriously, my wife bought one and she says it helps her sleep, though I just find it too warm for our Indian summer. Make sure you keep your AC on if you use it.

Look, if you are stressed about work all night, even a 10 kg blanket won't make you sleep. Fix your screen time, turn off your phone an hour before bed, and use a normal blanket. It works just as well and costs nothing.
