Do tums help with stomach pain?

I've been having a dull stomach ache on and off for a few days now. I was wondering if taking Tums could help ease the pain. Are Tums effective for general stomach pain, or are they meant for specific issues like heartburn?

They only help if your stomach pain is specifically due to acid indigestion or heartburn. If the pain is due to cramps, infection, or muscle pull, these calcium chewables won't do anything. If the pain is severe or doesn't go away in a day, please get it checked.

Whenever my stomach hurts, I start worrying if it is something serious like food poisoning or appendicitis. Please don't just take antacids and hope the pain goes away. If the pain is sharp or you feel nauseous, it's so much better to check with a doctor to ease your mind.

I was actually researching this yesterday because my stomach was hurting after a heavy meal. It seems they only neutralize acid, so they don't help with general stomach aches or cramps. I ended up just drinking ginger tea and it felt much better.

I know how frustrating and draining it is to deal with constant stomach pain that ruins your whole day. I used to pop antacids constantly hoping for relief, but they didn't help my actual pain at all. Please be gentle with yourself and get a doctor to find the real root cause.

Hey there! If your pain is just from a little too much spicy food, then yes, they can calm down the burning sensation quickly. But if it is a different kind of ache, they might not work. Drink some water and rest up! hope you feel better soon.

Stomach pain can make you feel very uneasy. These tablets are only meant for mild acid burning, not for general aches. Please take rest, drink some warm water, and consult a doctor if the pain continues.

I had a sudden stomach pain last month and panicked thinking it was something dangerous, so I took two antacids but nothing changed. Later, my doctor told me it was just mild indigestion and prescribed a simple syrup. It went away quickly, so don't worry too much.

Actually, it depends on what kind of pain it is, yaar. If it is that burning acidity wala pain, then they work really fast. But if it is a stomach bug or cramp, these tablets won't touch it. Better to avoid heavy food and see how it goes.

With PCOS, I get all kinds of abdominal cramps and bloating, and I've learned that antacids don't help with pelvic or deep stomach pain. They only work on upper stomach acid burning. Please consult a doctor so you don't mistake other pain for simple acidity.

Why waste money on imported tablets? If it is a normal stomach ache, just lie down, drink some warm water with black salt, or use a hot water bag on your belly. If that doesn't work in a few hours, a local clinic doctor is your best option.
