Do trees feel pain?
My science project involves plants, and I've been thinking a lot about them. I saw a documentary where they talked about plants having senses. Do trees actually feel pain when they're cut or damaged?

While plants send chemical signals when damaged, they do not have a central nervous system or brain to experience 'pain' the way humans or animals do. If you are having physical symptoms of pain yourself, please consult a medical doctor for proper diagnosis.
As a vegetarian, I often discuss this. Plants lack a brain to register pain, though they do have biological defense mechanisms. Eating plant-based foods remains the most compassionate and healthy choice for our body.
I read an article by botanists explaining that trees communicate distress via electrical signals, but since they lack nociceptors and a brain, it is not pain in the neurological sense. It is just a survival mechanism.
Well, they don't have back pain like I do every morning, so they are definitely luckier! Jokes aside, they react to damage chemically, but they don't actually suffer. I wish human pain was that simple to handle.
My elders always taught us not to pluck leaves after sunset because they are resting. Biologically, scientists say they react to stress but don't feel pain. It is nice to respect nature either way, as it brings mental peace.
They do not feel pain as they do not have nerves like us. Try not to worry about it. Nature is beautiful and has its own quiet way of living.

Actually yaar, they don't feel pain like us because there is no brain to process it. They just release chemicals to warn other trees nearby. It is super cool science, but nothing to feel sad about.
I always get this anxious feeling when I see branches being cut, like they are crying out in pain. Does anyone else feel this way or worry about how sensitive nature really is? It makes me think a lot.
