Do steroids help eczema?

My daughter has been suffering from eczema for a long time, and we've tried many things. Her doctor mentioned steroids. Do steroids really help clear up eczema effectively, and are they safe for kids?

With my busy office schedule, I can't afford constant skin itching and irritation. Topical steroid creams are the only things that calm my eczema flares in 2-3 days so I can actually focus on work. Just make sure to use them sparingly and stop as soon as the doctor advises.

Please be very careful with steroid creams. I used a strong one on my face eczema for too long without asking my doctor, and it thinned out my skin and caused bad rebound redness. You must get a dermatologist to prescribe the exact strength and follow their timeline strictly.

These chemical ointments do give fast relief from itching, beta, but they can be very harsh on the skin. We always used organic virgin coconut oil for dryness and cooling the skin. If your doctor has given you steroid creams, use them for a few days, but keep the skin hydrated naturally too.

I totally get it, the constant itching and bleeding from eczema can be so frustrating and painful. Steroid creams are literally a lifesaver during those bad flare-ups to break the itch-scratch cycle. Just hang in there and let a dermatologist guide you on how to taper them off safely.

Bro, my eczema got so bad during exams that I couldn't even write. The skin specialist gave me a mild steroid cream and it cleared up the red patches in like four days. It definitely works, just don't use it like a regular daily moisturizer.

Haan na, eczema patches are so annoying and they look so red. Steroid creams help a lot to reduce that swelling and itching quickly. But doctor se consult karke hi apply karna, because over-use skin ko damage kar sakta hai.

Yes, they work wonders to calm down sudden eczema flare-ups. Just make sure to apply the steroid cream only on the active red patches and not on normal skin.

My eczema flares up every time I binge on spicy street food or extra cheese. Steroid ointments are the only things that save my skin when my food cravings get the best of me. They definitely control the rash, but I really need to control my diet too!

My 6-year-old has had eczema since toddlerhood. Mild steroid creams are essential to stop the scratching before it turns into a skin infection. We use them for exactly 3 days when it gets red, along with tons of bland moisturizer, as suggested by our pediatrician.

In my forty years of dealing with eczema, I have seen that steroids are the most reliable way to quieten a severe flare. Don't fear them unnecessarily, as modern dermatologists know how to use them safely. Just stick to their prescription and keep your skin moist.
