Do some people need more sleep than others?

Meri wife ko fresh feel karne ke liye 9 ghante ki neend chahiye hoti hai, jabki main 7 ghante mein theek rehta hoon. Kya neend ki zaroorat har insaan mein itni alag hoti hai?

Yes, sleep needs definitely vary based on your body type and diet. I have noticed that when I eat light, clean vegetarian meals, my body recovers faster and I need slightly less sleep. If you feel tired even after sleeping 9 hours, maybe check if you are missing essential vitamins like B12 or D3 in your diet.

Yes, absolutely. Everyone's genetic makeup and daily energy expenditure are different, so some people naturally need 9 hours while others do fine with 7.

I totally get it, it can feel so annoying when people call you lazy just because you need a solid 9 hours of sleep to function. Everyone's body is built differently, and some people just require that extra time for cellular repair and mental rest. Never feel guilty for giving your body the rest it asks for.

Haan na, correct baat hai. Sabka body different hota hai toh sleep requirement bhi alag hoga hi. Mere husband ko 6 ghante kaafi hote hain, par mujhe toh kam se kam 8 ghante chahiye hi hote hain warna sir dard hone lagta hai. Apne body ki suno aur dushro se compare mat karo.

Definitely, sleep needs depend a lot on your physical activity levels. When I am training hard at the gym, my body demands at least 8 to 9 hours of sleep for muscle recovery, whereas on rest days, I feel fresh in 7 hours. Try adding a simple 30-minute evening walk to your routine; it really helps improve your sleep quality so you wake up feeling more rested.

Honestly, my roommate can wake up fresh at 6 AM after sleeping for just 6 hours, but if I don't get my full 9 hours, I am literally a zombie in lectures. It used to feel so unfair, but now I've accepted that my body just needs more recharge time. Don't compare your sleep with others, just do what works for you.

Yes, sleep requirements are highly individual and genetically determined. My physician explained that while the standard recommendation is 7-9 hours, some people are 'long sleepers' who naturally require 10 hours to feel fully alert. However, if you suddenly feel a need for significantly more sleep than your usual baseline, it is wise to consult a doctor to rule out anemia or thyroid issues.
