Do socks help you sleep?

Meri dadi hamesha kehti hain ki socks pehen kar sone se achhi neend aati hai. Kya is baat mein koi sachai hai, ya yeh bas ek purani kahawat hai?

Yes, wearing socks to bed actually works wonders. Warming up your feet dilates the blood vessels, which signals to your brain that it is bedtime. It sounds a bit weird to some people, but it honestly helps you fall asleep much faster. Just make sure the socks aren't too tight or thick.

They actually do help quite a bit, especially during the winters or if you sleep in an air-conditioned room. Keeping your feet warm improves blood circulation which naturally relaxes your body for sleep. Try wearing a clean, loose cotton pair tonight and see if you feel the difference. Sleep well, don't worry about minor things.

They can help if it is just a mild temperature issue, but please don't ignore it if you constantly have icy cold feet or numbness keeping you awake. I ignored poor circulation in my legs for a year thinking it was just normal coldness, and it turned out to be a nerve issue. If your sleep trouble or cold feet persist, please get a checkup done by a proper doctor instead of just trying home hacks.

Oh absolutely, I cannot sleep without socks, especially when the AC is on! My feet get ice cold and it keeps me tossing and turning for hours. I started wearing soft, breathable cotton socks and it made such a big difference to my sleep quality. You should definitely try it out tonight.

Look, there is no magic to it, it is just about body temperature. If your feet are cold, your body has to work harder to stay warm, which keeps you awake. Just put on some clean cotton socks before going to bed. If you still can't sleep after trying this for a week, you should probably look at your screen time or talk to a doctor.
